Made from a special blend of macerated canvas and phenolic resin these wheels are designed to be specifically resistant to slipping in an oily or greasy environment. Phenolic caster wheels are particularly useful in auto garages and industrial settings for this reason alone. Although highly resistant to slipping, phenolic wheels should ideally be used on a smooth concrete surface as a rough surface will cause premature and uneven wear on the wheels leading to early and often replacement. Phenolic caster wheels are also susceptible to water damage and should be kept away from exposure to water as often as possible.
